Reference Collection include some of the top titles available at Silang Municipal Library. The reference collection is a group of non-circulating, highly used materials such as dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias, bibliographies and bibliographical guides, directories, almanacs, etc. These sources often represent the most current information the library owns in a bound format.. Circulation

Circulation is a library term that means checking out library materials to users. It is used to designate the service desk where you check out and return materials, as well as the library staff that work at those desks

"Circulating books" are books that can be checked out. They are shelved in the main shelving area of the library, often called the "stacks". Circulating books cover all subject areas and can range from broad overviews of a general topic to very detailed studies of a very limited, specific topic.

Filipiniana

Wenceslao E. Retana, a famous Filipino journalist and Filipinologist defined FILIPINIANA publications as follows :
1. Those that were printed in the Philippines irrespective of the subject they treat of, because all of those are indispensable for the accurate study of the typography of the Archipelgo;
2. Those that are about the Philippines, no matter in what language they were written or the place where they were printed because they are more or less necessary for the study of the country ; and
3. Those that were written by Filipinos on any subject, regardless of their imprint, because they are of great use to measure the intellectual capacity, laboriousness, taste, ambitions, etc. of Filipinos.

Government Publications

  1. Are documents issued, published, or financed by local, state, federal, or international government agencies.  

  2. Government publications are documents and information produced by government and central government organizations. 

  3. Local documents are materials issued by local government agencies and their sub units, including municipalities, counties, township, villages, special district, school boards and the like.

  4. Local information is a broader term that includes local documents, local history, and information relating to the area whether or not it is locally produced.
